Milk Bottles?

In my last post I was enthusiastically writing about my new shop but I didn't actually add any photos of what I have made.  Here is a photo of the first party favour I put up for sale in my PartyRock shop.  The milk bottles are filled with vanilla and raspberry marshmallows, lolly milk bottles and pink pig lollies.  They are finished with a little bell attached with a raffia bow and a cartoon cow peeking out through the transparent lid.

Party Favours are so much fun to make, and it is so much fun to see people enjoying them when they get them.  How could anyone resist these sweet little take home treats?

If you haven't ever tried to make some yourself, why don't you give it a try?  There are so many crafty things available now that all you need is your imagination and there is no limit to what you can create.

PartyRock

There has been a huge influx of sweets in our house over the past couple of weeks and unfortunately for my kids they haven't been allowed to eat any of them.  Some people may say I'm a mean mum (my kids included) but the sweets are all for a good reason.

There is a new shop called PartyRock on the MadeIt website that sells party favours.  That is what I have been working on over the past couple of weeks and I am excited to finally have a couple of styles of party favours on-line and ready for sale.

Within the next few days I am planning to have a couple of new packs available too, so if you are looking for something special to send home with your guests after your next party, I'd love to have you come and visit.

At this stage all items in the shop are designed for children's parties.  Over time there will also be items suitable for weddings, engagements, baby showers, etc. so please feel free to keep coming back to see what is new.

The current items on my site are not suitable for international shipping due to food packaging laws, so unfortunately they are currently only available for purchase within Australia.  In the future I am planning to have some items that do not contain food so those items will be available for international shipping.  You can send me a message via the shop if you have any specific requirements.

Below is a picture of the store front so you know you have found my shop.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Another MadeIt Shop on the Way

My FunkyFun shop has been quiet this week as I have been working on a new project.  The next project will be on MadeIt too so I'll make a post as soon as I have set it up.  In the mean time, here is an easy link to my FunkyFun shop on the MadeIt website:

Hand-Knitted Flower Fridge Magnets

Anyone who knows me will know that I have a bit of an obsession with fridge magnets.  Whenever we go on a holiday, the first thing I buy is another fridge magnet.  As you can imagine, our fridge (and freezer) are absolutely covered in them.

Needless to say, as I was thinking of things I could knit, fridge magnets came up on my list of ideas.  I have just started creating a range of hand-knitted flower fridge magnets and I have a couple of sets available on my website.  I'll put a couple of photos below so you can check them out if you want to.

They come in a pack of two and you can see more of them in my shop at FunkyFun.  I'll be adding more of them to my shop as soon as I finish them.

Each set contains a matching pair.

What woman doesn't like getting flowers?

Perfect stocking filler for Christmas!

Sample of what I have done so far.

Thanks for looking.  I'd love to hear what you think about my magnets so please feel free to comment.

Delicious Breakfasts for Gluten-Free Kids

My 'Delicious Breakfasts for Gluten-Free Kids' recipe e-book has just this morning been approved by Apple and is available to download onto your computer at Bake Space, or you can download it directly onto your iPad from The Cookbook Café in the App Store.

This recipe book is a collection of our family's favourite gluten-free breakfasts.  Quite of few of the recipes also have lactose-free options included too.

If I had to choose a favourite recipe I think it would have to be the Cinnamon Banana Toasties, they are just sooooo hard to resist.  But then I love the Corn Fritters and Apple Pikelets too so it is really hard to just pick one.

Anyway, you are welcome to check it out for yourself if you would like to.  I'd love to hear from you with any comments you have.

FunkyFun Shop on MadeIt

My new shop called FunkyFun has just opened up on the MadeIt website and I have my first item up for sale.  It is multi-coloured jumper which I have hand-knitted.  You can go directly to my shop by clicking on FunkyFun if you want to check it out.  I've got some cool beanies coming soon too and a very colourful scarf.

I love knitting beanies in different patterns and designs so if you are a fan of beanies like me, please feel free to keep an eye on my store for the new ones coming up.  At some stage in the future I'm also planning to knit some baby jumpers (and maybe some matching pants) so you might find those on there eventually too.

Thanks for visiting, it was great having you stop by.  You're welcome to come by any time you're free!

The Digestive System Poem

My youngest son recently had a project to do at school on the Digestive System and one of the things he was required to do was include a poem.  Below is a poem I wrote for him to use so that he didn't have the same one as anyone else.  Feel free to use it if you have a similar project (or if you just like random poetry!).  It is simply titled "The Digestive System Poem".

When looking at the digestive system,
You'll find saliva right there at the start,
Then chew and swallow all your food,
So the oesophagus can do its part.

Following on from that is the stomach,
With strong muscles and gastric juice,
After that comes the small intestine,
Have you ever wondered, "what's its use?"

Working with the gallbladder,
As well as the pancreas and liver,
It separates all the bits of food,
Until it runs just like a river.

Then comes the large intestine,
Where the colon is as well,
The colon takes the bits it needs,
And leaves the leftovers to expel.

They head over to the rectum,
Until it is time for them to go,
Then right out through the anus,
And that's all you need to know!
